Register for this event organized by the American Immigration Lawyers Association's (AILA) Law Student Committee to spend an evening of networking with like-minded young professionals while hearing from some of the foremost experts in immigration in the nation. In this virtual panel, you will:

  • Learn and interact from a panel of immigration law experts, who will share their insights, experience, and career advice,
  • Interact with other participants in breakout sessions. There will be at least two members of AILA in each breakout room for further discussion.

Event Speakers

Magaly Cheng is a Partner at Clark Lau LLC. Magaly counsels employers and employees on various immigrant and non-immigrant processes. She also assists clients in obtaining permanent residence, with a particular emphasis on PERM labor certification applications. She enjoys working closely with clients to understand their objectives and provide a clear strategy to help accomplish them. Her personal journey as an immigrant gives her the legal expertise, compassion, and dedication to address the concerns of every client and provide them with the highest quality of legal representation. Magaly has served on AILA’s Law Student Outreach Committee since 2018.

Jonathan Grode serves as the U.S. Practice Director and Managing Partner for Green and Spiegel’s US operations. Jonathan has worked continuously in the U.S. business immigration law field since 1999 and has amassed considerable experience obtaining nonimmigrant and immigrant visas for new company start-ups, professional workers, artists and entertainers, athletes, physicians, and scientific researchers. In addition, Jonathan has significant experience dealing with Department of Labor and Department of Homeland Security enforcement actions as well as with EB-5 Investor filings. Jonathan also writes regularly for industry publications and academic journals.

Joseph Tsang is the Chair for AILA  National’s Law Student Outreach Committee as well as the managing partner for Tsang  & Associates, an international law firm with offices in Los  Angeles, Taipei, and Shanghai. Specializing in complex cases that require creative solutions, Joseph has built a team of experts that have helped clients win cases previously unimaginable. He is a happy mentor to many law students and lawyers and is an advocate for immigration reform.
