Global Forum

2022 AILA/GMS
Annual Global Migration Forum

June 13-14, 2022 • AILA National Conference •                                    Javits Center - New York, NY

Since the last in-person annual Global Forum in 2019, the world has changed in ways no one could have imagined. The COVID pandemic forced everyone to fundamentally alter the way they live and work. For global migration practitioners in particular, the countless travel restrictions, border closures, and restricted government processing brought new challenges to the practice. Now more than ever, clients seek counsel on how to manage global mobility. Companies around the world are facing acute staffing needs that require timely and creative solutions. This forum is specially designed to focus on the current state of global migration. Our expert panelists from around the world will address topics related to substantive issues such as global corporate transactions, COVID travel requirements, and the increased competition for a skilled workforce. They also will explore issues related to practice management, including ethics, the increased reliance on technology, and how migration practitioners can seek to become better global citizens. Finally, as AILA Global Migration Section (GMS) members have been apart for over two years, there will be dedicated time to reconnect with friends and colleagues and make new connections. Please join the GMS community to reconvene and learn from one another about new ways to manage migration in the current global climate.
