• Immigrants’ List Luncheon • Friday, June 23, 12:45 pm (ET) • The Immigrants’ List Luncheon will take place on Friday, June 23, from 12:45 pm to 2:30 pm in the Desoto room. They will also hold their annual Maggio Awards during the luncheon, and will honor Governor J.B. Pritzker (Illinois) for his leadership in recognizing the value of immigrants and immigration especially in Florida! Gov. Pritzker has been a real game changer in Illinois. He supported and signed two terrific bills that help immigrants. One made it possible for non-citizens to vacate old convictions. The other barred counties in Illinois from contracting with ICE to detain non-citizens. He had also been granting pardons to non-citizens facing deportation. RSVP today!

AILA authors, who literally wrote the books in their respective practice areas, will be answering questions in the attendee lounge in the Exhibit Hall on Thursday and Friday during lunch and networking breaks. Meet the Office of the Detention Ombudsman 

Congress created the Office of the Detention Ombudsman to provide remedial relief to many of the common issues faced by immigrant detainees, from lack of medical care to lack of access to counsel. Hear directly from this new office’s team during the Office of the Detention Ombudsman Open Forum, taking place on Thursday, June 22, from 7:00 to 8:00 am (ET) in the Osceola Ballroom. 

Learn How You Can Impact Policies and Find Resolutions for Your Cases 

Learn how AILA utilizes high-impact trends to propel our policy and advocacy priorities forward, the status of current agency liaison work, strategies for resolving complex case problems, and more by attending the High-Impact Trends and Case Resolution Strategies Training on Thursday, June 22, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am (ET) in Sanibel 2-3, Convention Center Ballroom Level 2.

Celebrate Pro Bono in the Pro Bono Hospitality Suite 

Raise a glass to celebrate the pro bono accomplishments of AILA colleagues at the Pro Bono Hospitality Suite. The event will be held Thursday, June 22, from 7:00 to 8:30 pm in Suwanee 3-4, Convention Center Mezzanine Level.

Lace Up Your Running Shoe for a Good Cause    

Organized by the AILA Central Florida Chapter,* the 2nd Annual Superheroes 5K Run for Justice will take place at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center on Friday, June 23, at 6:30 am. Lace up your running shoes and be part of this event, which will benefit the American Immigration Council and the Orlando Center for Justice. Sign up!
