Introducing Our Keynote Speaker
AILA is excited to invite you to explore the future of technology in immigration practice with Ed Walters, who will deliver the keynote address at AC23. Ed is the Chief Strategy Officer of vLex and the founder of Fastcase, a legal publishing company based in Washington, D.C. Fastcase and vLex merged in April 2023 to form one of the world’s fastest-growing legal publishers. Its global law library serves more than 3 million subscribers and includes the law of more than 100 countries in a single platform.
Ed is also an adjunct professor at the Georgetown University Law Center and Cornell Law School/Cornell Tech, where he teaches The Law of Robots. He is the author and editor of Data-Driven Law (Taylor & Francis 2018) and a contributing author to Legal Informatics (Cambridge University Press 2021).

Opening Happy Hour

AILA Saturday Night Party — Bring a Guest!
This year’s conference will conclude with a lively celebration on Saturday, June 24, starting at 8:00 pm at the House of Blues in Disney Springs. Join us for an evening of food, drinks, music and more! Shuttles will be provided from the Gaylord Palms and conference Disney Resort hotels.
Schedule
- 6 pm–Midnight: Shuttles between all AILA hotels and Disney Springs. Enjoy time on your own at Disney Springs before the AILA event.
- 8 pm: AILA Saturday Night Party at the House of Blues Starts with Dinner Buffet (while supplies last)
- 8:30 pm-9:30 pm – Motown Madness Band: Go back to the good old days, enjoy an incredible evening of high-energy, interactive entertainment provided by the most talented impersonators in the world (Stevie Wonder, Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin, and The Blues Brothers), performing with a soulful Motown band.

AILA's 12th Annual Conference Pro Bono Clinic
This year at the Annual Conference, AILA is partnering with Mi Familia Vota and SEIU to provide both in-person AND remote naturalization events for immigrants in the Orlando area and for union workers across the country. Each organization has a queue of lawful permanent residents eager receive the assistance of an immigration attorney in reviewing their naturalization applications.
The Annual Conference IN-PERSON event will be held in collaboration with Mi Familia Vota and the AILA Central Florida Chapter on Saturday, June 24, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm (ET). The event will include the review of naturalization applications and will serve the Orlando immigrant community. The goal is to assist 50 lawful permanent residents. Mi Familia Vota will offer training and seeks 25-30 volunteer attorneys, with approximately two consultations per attorney. Volunteers should bring a laptop. Spanish language skills are a plus.
The Annual Conference REMOTE event will be held in collaboration with SEIU on Saturday, June 24, from 12:00 to 5:00 pm (ET), with time slots available from 12:00-1:30 pm ET, 1:30-3:00 pm ET, and 3:00 -5:00 pm ET. . This event seeks approximately 30 volunteer attorneys, with approximately 2-3 application reviews per attorneys during their time slot. Spanish language skills are a plus.
The 2nd Annual Superheroes 5K Run for Justice
Organized by the AILA Central Florida Chapter*, the 2nd Annual Superheroes 5K Run for Justice will take place at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center on Friday, June 23, at 6:30 AM. Lace up your running shoes and be part of this event, which will benefit the American Immigration Council and the Orlando Center for Justice.
